“Running a full time established business and trying to build a new internet based home business is not easy!”

There, I’ve said it, and no doubt upset countless “gurus” who have you believe you just need to swallow their magic pill and the next day you can throw in your job, move to a palace by the sea and earn money in your pyjamas.

Before you tell me you don’t run a full time business at the moment I know the same challenges face anyone with a regular job – LACK OF TIME and/or TOO MUCH TO DO – or more to the point the perceived lack of time.

I’m writing this post when I should be returning phone calls to existing clients, researching my next recommendation and writing boring reports. But I’m not motivated to do that! I’ve got the bug and know without a shadow of doubt that my new internet business is my way forward. The point being this activity IS getting me to where I want to be – writing a boring report is not!

Lisa Diane sent me an email yesterday that really cemented this thought for me. In my words – if you are about to go on holiday and you have things to buy, bags to pack etc before a certain time you can virtually guarantee you’ll get them done. Why? Because you are focused on one target and do not get distracted or get involved in tasks that will not allow you to hit that target.

The lesson for myself today is “take focused action”

  1. Yup – it’s not easy. In fact much more harder than I initially expected. But there is no turning back for me – as you say Internet business is my only way forward now. I quit my day job few months ago and now doing this full time.

See you around Mark! Still a Gunner here.

Hi Calvin, thanks for taking the time to come by. Congratulations on the full time plunge – I’m sure you will do well. Keep in touch. Mark (PS still a Spur here! – I hesitate to use the usual term for political correctness reasons)

  2. Mark,
I learned a ton from that simple email also. Thanks for sharing. Jes

Sometimes a very small snippet can have a massive impact. Thanks for taking the time to comment Jes. Mark

Thanks Tray. We all definitely need to make time for “us” as well as our businesses. Your new style blog looks great – easier to maintain for you also I guess – more time from productive things I hope. Mark
